I have a neighbour named Li.She is twelve years old.we study at the same school.She is the apple of her teachers´ eyes.Although she was born with a silver spoon in her mouth,she never blows her own trumpet.She is also really down-to-earth.She always helps her friends who need help.
Last Sunday,it was a bright sunny day as Li walked to the canteen to buy some food and drinks,it was recess.When she walked through the hall,she saw a crowd of pupils gathering at the school notice board.Then,she saw a bright coloured poster and it wrote "Story-Telling-Competition".I was organised by the English Club Society.She was really interested to join in the competition.
Without any delay,she quickly went to the school's library to borrow some interesting and suitable for the competition.After thirty minutes searching for the perfect book,she found a book entitled "The Sweet Bird".She rushed to the counter to borrow it.After she had a delicious and scrumpious dinner,she went traight to her room to memorize the full story.
The day that Li awaited had come.She was so nervous and scared because she thought that she will forget the story.Fourty minutes later,her name was called.At first,she was so nervous but when she was on stage,she told the story confidently.When she finished her story,she was so relieved.
Before the competition ended,the master of the competition,Mr. Chan,the headmaster of her school called her name as the winner of the game.She was so shocked because she never won the first place before.She was as happy as a lark.
She rushed to her home.She told her parents about what happened at the school.Her parents,Mr. and Mrs.Xiau was as proud as a peacock about their daughter's achievement.
